We are writing as students of the ETSAB, which is the public School of Architecture of Barcelona, with the aim to avoid public education from being harshly affected by Spain's economic cuts.
You might be asking yourself why now and why you?
As to why now, since the announcement of the education cuts carrried out by the Spanish government, a massive number of students of the public School of Architecture in Barcelona have come together to stand up against these measures which will worsen our school's quality and the equal possibility to apply for studies. We believe this iniciative in participating in your project will inspire other education circles. And that thrills us even more.
And why you? For the last passed days, our school community has expressed union through the creation of different comissions to work for a solution to the education measures through protests and proposals. Your project portrays the individual struggles in this current situation. And, as members of the action comission, we think that your art and social projects fit perfectly with our aim and our creative background because, as future architects, we also believe in the power of art to turn the world inside out.

4. Pequeño texto explicando el proyecto:

J.R. es un artista francés que ha evolucionado desde el graffiti en París hasta uno de sus proyectos más recientes, el INSIDE OUT PROJECT, por el cual ha ganado el premio TED en 2011. INSIDE OUT partió de algo simple: retratar personas de un lugar, imprimir las fotografías y pegarlas en sus calles a tamaño gigante.  El mismo J.R. viajaba a comunidades de todo el mundo y con los años, su arte se hayó expuesto en todo tipo de lugares, desde favelas en Brasil hasta muros en Oriente Próximo, acabando por convertirse en el dueño de "la galería de arte más grande del mundo".  No es sólo el formato o la calidad de sus fotografías lo que hace que su proyecto haya tenido el impacto y el éxito que ha tenido, sino también el hecho que en cada proceso conseguía poner en marcha la participación de todos los individuos con los que trabajaba haciéndoles, de este modo, realmente autores o protagonistas. INSIDE OUT es la última consecuencia de esa idea: ahora somos las mismas comunidades con una causa las que podemos retratarnos, enviarle nuestras fotografías y esperar a que su equipo nos las devuelva para empapelar las superficies de nuestra zona. Su idea explora y potencia la capacidad de compromiso, identidad y unidad de los diferentes individuos reunidos con algún fin y llamados a la acción. Con cada fotografía, la persona inquieta da la cara y tiene, también, la cara de decir: aquí estoy y quiero participar para que esto cambie. J.R. pretende dar poder a los colectivos, hacer visible su inquietud y utilizar el arte "to turn the world inside out".
